When Harry Met Me
Today’s blog entry is about my dear friend Harry. Harry is a cute little terrier mix with gorgeous amber eyes. I would admit that ours was not a friendship at first sight. I found Harry too hyper, too eager, too verbose and too intense - in other words, a terrier! But as we spent more time together, his loyalty and unwavering enthusiasm have grown on me and I now consider Harry my best friend. It helped that Harry’s attitude has softened - he whines ever so softly when he sees me and, according to Nanny Mandy, who is a most trustworthy source I must say, Harry starts whining as soon as he sees my house. I am not hard-hearted and therefore was thoroughly touched by his sincere devotion to my person. And I could not have wished for a better, selfless playmate! Harry cannot match my speed - his legs are too short - but he always puts up a great show and chases the ball he would never catch as I am so much faster! I love Harry’s sweet face and so does my Mama - I give him little kisses and cuddle with him and it makes him so content. I look forward to many more years of chasing the ball and riding shotgun with my friend Harry who now has very nice doggie manners indeed! Perhaps our Mamas and Nanny Mandy could share an ice tea or a glass of Sancerre on a porch one of those days - Harry and I would love it!
Yours unabashedly,
JT
